Niki, a D.C.-area native, has seen nearly every facet of the restaurant and wine industry--from serving at neighborhood restaurants in high school, to bartending at Cork Wine Bar, working in fine wine sales and even doing a stint in a butcher’s shop.


After graduating from George Mason University with a degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship, Niki made her way to Chef Fabio Trabocchi’s Fiola Mare on the Georgetown waterfront. As Head Sommelier, she cut her teeth working under Corporate Wine Director, Casper Rice. During her time there, Fiola Mare won several awards including Best New Restaurant of Year from the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) in 2015, Time Out Magazine’s Best Seafood Restaurant in America and Washingtonian’s 100 Very Best Restaurants, to name a few.

Following her time at Fiola Mare, Niki diversified her experience by working at Joseph Magnus Distillery, opening the Voltaggio Brothers Steakhouse at MGM National Harbor, as well as consulting on a number of projects in the D.C. area.

When she’s in charge of the playlist at Maxwell, you’ll most likely hear her spinning New Order’s Bizarre Love Triangle. Her favorite pour is Nicolas Badel “Intuition” IGP Collines Rhodaniennes 2012. It’s salty and gamey, and while it smells evil, it strikes the perfect balance of earth, fruit, acid and funk.
